Pakistan’s Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, has announced the results of the balloting for the upcoming Hajj.
In the Regular Hajj Scheme, 69,438 applications were received, with 63,805 of them successfully selected through the balloting process.
Minister Aneeq Ahmed highlighted the successful efforts to reduce the cost of the Hajj package, resulting in a Rs 100,000 reduction in the total expense.
A waiting list of 5,633 unsuccessful applicants has been prepared based on their cities of departure, and these individuals may be selected if pilgrims from the same city withdraw their Hajj applications.
Notifications will be sent to all applicants tonight through mobile SMS, the website, or the mobile app. Additionally, the Sponsorship Scheme will continue until Sunday.
Aneeq Ahmed noted that, for the first time, Pakistan is facilitating a short Hajj. Among the applicants, 56 percent are women, and 44 percent are men.
Minister Ahmed emphasized that each pilgrim will be provided with a suitcase featuring a QR code to prevent any loss of belongings. Furthermore, every pilgrim will receive a 7 GB data bundle.
