Pakistan has strongly denounced the unprovoked violation of its airspace by Iran, which resulted in a strike inside Pakistani territory causing the tragic death of two innocent children and injuring three girls.
The foreign ministry issued a statement expressing deep concern over this incident, emphasizing that the violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is entirely unacceptable and may lead to serious consequences.
Despite existing communication channels between Pakistan and Iran, the illegal act occurred, prompting Pakistan to lodge a strong protest with senior officials in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.
The Iranian Charge d’affaires has also been summoned to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey the nation’s strongest condemnation of this blatant breach of sovereignty. Pakistan has made it clear that Iran bears the responsibility for any consequences arising from this incident.
The foreign ministry underscored Pakistan’s longstanding stance that terrorism is a shared threat in the region, necessitating coordinated efforts.
Such unilateral actions, it stressed, run contrary to the principles of good neighborly relations and have the potential to severely undermine bilateral trust and confidence. Pakistan calls for immediate measures to address the situation and uphold the principles of sovereignty and regional cooperation.
