Pakistan to Host SCO Summit in October, Including India. Pakistan will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of Government meeting in October 2024, inviting all member states, including India, to attend in person in Islamabad. The event will be preceded by a ministerial meeting and several rounds of high-level official talks among SCO member states, focusing on financial, economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
As the current chair of SCO, Pakistan is committed to promoting collective prosperity and development in line with the SCO Charter. Efforts will be directed towards practical collaboration in enhancing connectivity, transport infrastructure, youth empowerment, poverty alleviation, and investment in high-potential sectors such as agriculture, mining, minerals, energy, and information technology.
The Joint Communiqué adopted at the meeting will reflect the collective vision of SCO member states on various areas, including the economy, trade, climate change, finance, industry, investment, transport, customs, intellectual property rights, ICT and innovation technology, energy, agriculture and food security, healthcare, and cooperation in humanitarian and cultural spheres.
