Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the caretaker minister for finance, revenue, and economic affairs, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to openness in order to attract investment and preserve its favorable credit rating in international financial markets.
The minister made these comments on Monday while visiting Morocco to attend the annual conference of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. She was meeting with a high-level delegation of the global financial services organization Moody’s.
Prior to this, the interim minister underscored the cash-strapped country’s commitment to advancing economic growth and international financial cooperation.
The minister also took part in a high-profile conference between the state bank and the finance ministers of the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (MENAP) hosted by Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.
