Pakistan Triumphs in 2025 International Tent Pegging Tournamen
Lahore Hosts Thrilling Tent Pegging & Archery Competitions with Global Participation
The grand finale of the 2025 International Horse and Cattle Show concluded with a spectacular display of skill and sportsmanship as Pakistan secured first place in the international Tent Pegging Friendship Tournament. The three-day event, held at Benin Tree Polo Ground in Cantt Lahore, saw fierce competition among teams from South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Russia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United States, Norway, and Pakistan.
On the final day of the tent pegging event, Pakistan emerged victorious, with Egypt securing second place, Saudi Arabia finishing third, and South Africa taking fourth. A total of nine international teams and 36 international players showcased their prowess in the competition, which featured individual line, double, triple, and four-horse rider finals.
Archery & Spear-Throwing Competitions
The archery segment of the event welcomed 16 skilled archers from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran, Russia, and Pakistan. Kazakhstan dominated the competition, winning first place, followed by Turkey in second and Iran in third.
In the spear-throwing event, nine international teams participated, demonstrating their precision and agility, while five teams competed in the archery event. Spectators thoroughly enjoyed the thrilling performances of riders and archers.
National Tent Pegging Competitions at Fortress Stadium
Simultaneously, at Fortress Stadium, the national tent pegging competitions saw the participation of 60 teams and 260 riders. The event featured various categories:
- Day 1:Single-line competitions
- 1st place: Mehr Imran Haider Barbahna (Witoklub)
- 2nd place: Raye Asif Bhola Kharl (SA Garden)
- 3rd place: Malik Ali Hassan Wato (Zeledar Club)
- 4th place: Khawar Tent Pegging Club
- Day 2:Single-line spear-throwing event
- 1st place: Mehr Asrar Ahmed Nargana
- 2nd place: Ali Babar Alfa
- 3rd place: Raye Aftab Maneka & Chaudhry Chan Mahmood Randwana
- Day 3:Session of Four Competition
- 1st place: Chaudhry Suni Khan Ranjha (Khur Kalla Club)
- 2nd place: Chaudhry Manwar Abbas Khokhar (Show Line Club Lahore)
- 3rd place: Chaudhry Javed Arshad Butt (Al-Hafiz Malik Jhelum Club)
Cash Prizes & Awards
The national tent pegging tournament featured a total prize pool of Rs10 million, with:
- 1st place winners receiving Rs500,000
- 2nd place winners awarded Rs200,000
- 3rd place winners securing Rs200,000, along with trophies, shields, and cash prizes
The prize distribution ceremony, held at Fortress Stadium, was graced by Bilal Yaseen and Ghazali Saleem Butt, who praised the athletes for their remarkable performances.
This year’s International Horse and Cattle Show proved to be a resounding success, highlighting Pakistan’s dominance in tent pegging while promoting cultural heritage and international sportsmanship.
