The Pakistan team will face arch-rival India at the ‘controversial’ venue of Gujarat, according to ESPNcricinfo, which revealed the full schedule for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023.
According to the report, despite the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) worries over playing their match against India at Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad, Pakistan vs. India World Cup game will take place there.
According to the source, the draught schedule has been given to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Before the final announcement, all of the participating member boards will provide feedback on the schedule.
Pakistan will play its group-stage matches across five locations, according to the proposed schedule. Aside from Ahmedabad, Pakistan will face Qualifying teams on October 6 and 12 in Hyderabad, Australia on October 20 in Bengaluru, Afghanistan (October 23) and South Africa (October 27) in Chennai, Bangladesh on October 31 in Kolkata, New Zealand on November 5 in Bengaluru (day match), and England on November 12 in Kolkata.
Meanwhile, India will play their matches at all nine of the big tournament venues. They will begin their campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
The tournament will begin on October 5 with a match between England (defending champions) and New Zealand (ICC World Cup 2019 finalists).
The semi-final venues have not yet been announced, but the final is scheduled for November 19 in Ahmedabad.
