Pakistani Mixed Martial Arts (PMMA) athletes showcased their prowess on the global stage by clinching two bronze medals in the recently concluded World MMA Championship 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Asim Khan and Shahzeb Khan, representing Pakistan, secured bronze medals in their respective categories, marking a historic achievement for the nation. This marks the first time in history that Pakistan has earned two bronze medals in the World Championship of mixed martial arts.
The championship, featuring competitors from 38 countries, witnessed intense competition and outstanding performances. President of the PMMA Federation, Zulfiqar Ali, extended heartfelt congratulations to the accomplished athletes, applauding their dedication and skill.
In a statement on Monday, he conveyed best wishes for their future endeavors, expressing optimism that these athletes would continue to bring pride to the nation in upcoming events.
