Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at the Gulfood Manufacturing 2024 expo in Dubai, marking the first time Pakistani companies have showcased products at this global food manufacturing and processing event. Held at the Dubai World Trade Center, this exhibition highlights Pakistan’s growing potential in food processing, packaging, and supply chain solutions.
Since its inception in 2014, Gulfood Manufacturing has been a major platform for innovation in the food processing industry. This year, over 1,200 suppliers from more than 60 countries are participating, with 21 Pakistani companies featured under the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) umbrella. An additional eight Pakistani firms are independently participating, presenting solutions in food ingredients, packaging, labeling, and more.
TDAP Chief Zubair Motiwala expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am immensely pleased to see Pakistani exhibitors here, showcasing their capabilities in packaging and food processing.”
Pakistan’s presence at the expo reflects its broader strategy to enhance trade and foreign investment, following the recent $3 billion IMF financial support package. As the country aims to stabilize its economy, initiatives like this underscore Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening exports and building stronger economic partnerships.
