A group of Pakistani ophthalmologists are in Kabul to operate on Afghan patients’ eyes. According to the health officials, 500 eye operations would be performed without charge.
The procedures include retina and oculoplastic surgeries, and will be done at the Noor Hospital – the national eye clinic – in Kabul.
In addition to thanking the foundation for their assistance, Dr. Zahir Gul Zadran, the director of Noor Hospital, stated: “These physicians have also provided medical equipment to our hospital for the treatment of patients, the worth of which is around Rs 2.4 million lakhs ($10 million).
According to Zadran, these doctors were attending Noor Hospital for the second time to treat Afghan patients.
The visiting surgeons will see patients at Noor Hospital for four days.
