Kishmala Talat, Pakistan’s accomplished sports shooter, achieved an impressive 5th position in the recently unveiled annual Asian Shooting rankings by the Asian Shooting Confederation.
This recognition is a testament to the 21-year-old’s prowess in the women’s 10-metre air pistol shooting category. Accumulating a total of 2,505 rating points, Kishmala not only secured her place among the top five shooters in her category but also emerged as the highest-ranked Pakistani shooter across all categories for the year 2023. This marks a remarkable journey, considering she wasn’t ranked in the previous year, 2022.
Kishmala’s outstanding achievements include clinching a bronze medal for Pakistan in the 2023 Asian Games during the women’s 10m air pistol event. Her exceptional skills were showcased at the World Champions and Asian Championship, solidifying her status as a rising star in the realm of sports shooting.
In a display of versatility, Kishmala also earned the 15th position in the women’s 25m air pistol category, affirming her proficiency across different disciplines. Among other notable Pakistani athletes in the Asian Shooting rankings, GM Bashir secured the 8th position in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol category. In men’s skeet, Usman Chand claimed the 10th position, while Gulfam Joseph secured the 14th position in the men’s 10m air pistol rankings.
