Blue Passport
The Pakistani government has recently made a significant decision to introduce a new type of passport known as the “blue passport.” This initiative aims to provide certain individuals with enhanced travel privileges and ease of access to approximately 70 countries across the globe without the need for a visa application process.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a series of incentives aimed at recognizing and honoring exemplary taxpayers in Pakistan. Speaking at a ceremony where excellence awards were bestowed upon compliant taxpayers and leading exporters, the Prime Minister outlined plans to reward these individuals with special privileges.
Among the incentives announced, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that award-winning taxpayers would receive blue passports and honor cards. Additionally, top taxpayers across various categories would be granted the esteemed status of honorary ambassadors for Pakistan. This initiative aims to acknowledge the significant contributions made by taxpayers towards the nation’s development, particularly in bolstering non-conventional exports and businesses.

Finance Minister Aurangzeb echoed the Prime Minister’s sentiments, emphasizing the pivotal role of direct taxes and exports in driving economic growth and development. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman reiterated the government’s dedication to improving tax administration through digitization efforts aimed at addressing leakages and ensuring efficiency. He acknowledged the Prime Minister’s commitment to resolving pending refund issues for exporters and reiterated the government’s focus on digital tax administration.
