SARGODHA – Ayesha Mumtaz, a young schoolgirl from Sargodha, has brought pride to Pakistan by securing a bronze medal at the ongoing Asian Junior and School Boxing Championship in Al Ain City, Abu Dhabi.
Ayesha Mumtaz earned her place on the podium after an impressive performance in the quarterfinals, where she defeated Vietnam’s Thi Hong Yen Nguyen. This victory not only guaranteed her a spot in the semi-finals but also secured her a bronze medal, marking a significant achievement for Pakistani boxing.
Competing in the pinweight (46kg) category, Ayesha Mumtaz showcased exceptional technical skills and strategic mastery, with her powerful left hooks and well-timed attacks proving decisive in her victory. Her achievement is particularly noteworthy as she becomes only the second female boxer from Pakistan to win a medal at the Asian Boxing Championships, solidifying her status as a rising star in the sport.
