Twin sisters Manisha Ali and Maliha Ali have made Pakistan proud with their outstanding performance at the 6th Asian Taekwondo Championship held in Indonesia.
Representing Lahore Garrison University, the sisters from Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan, won gold and bronze medals, respectively. Manisha Ali triumphed in the over 73 kg category, clinching the gold medal with a remarkable display of skill. Her sister, Maliha Ali, earned a bronze medal in the 73 kg category.
The Pakistan taekwondo team made history by securing three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, marking the country’s most successful performance at an international taekwondo event. This milestone is the first time both male and female athletes from Pakistan have achieved such a feat on the global stage. Competing against strong contenders, Pakistan claimed first place, followed by Kazakhstan and Malaysia.
This victory highlights the growing strength of Pakistani athletes and their ability to compete at the highest levels on the Asian stage.
