At Beijing Jiaotong University, students from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jordan, and other Belt and Road nations took part in a tour of the city’s main thoroughfare by bicycle.
According to China.org.com, the central axis is a north-south line that passes through the middle of the Chinese capital.
Along the central axis, the bicycle route connected popular tourist attractions such Yongding Gate, Zhengyang Gate, Tian’anmen, the Palace Museum, Jingshan Mountain, Bell Tower, and Drum Tower.
The tour is aimed at overseas students to better understand the history and culture of Beijing’s central axis.
The exercise, according to the tour’s organizer, was designed to increase foreign students’ understanding of Chinese culture so they may contribute to cultural exchanges between Chinese and other countries and improve intercultural understanding.
