The largest biogas facility in Pakistan was inaugurated in Gujjar Colony by the caretaker chief minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi.
With a capacity to produce 600 cubic meters of gas daily, this compressed biogas plant will utilize 1,600 kilograms of dung daily to generate 16,000 kilograms of organic fertilizer.
The produced organic fertilizer will be available for use by the Parks and Horticultural Authority (PHA) and local farmers.
Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, speaking to the media post-inauguration, highlighted the plant’s role in eliminating dung from roads while simultaneously producing organic fertilizer.
Furthermore, the organic fertilizer will also be made available for sale to the public, providing a revenue stream for PHA.
Minister Bilal Afzal, along with several officials including the secretaries of energy and information, commissioner of Lahore, CCPO, deputy commissioner, attended the inauguration ceremony.
