Exports of Pakistan in rupee terms experienced a robust surge, marking a substantial increase of 29.96 percent during the initial four months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period last year. According to provisional data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), exports from July to October 2023 amounted to Rs. 2,767,606 million, a significant rise from Rs. 2,129,652 million recorded during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Breaking down the numbers further, the year-on-year analysis for October 2023 revealed an impressive 43.42 percent increase in exports, reaching Rs. 754,073 million. This substantial growth compared to the Rs. 525,782 million recorded in October 2022 indicates positive momentum in the country’s export sector. Additionally, on a month-on-month basis, October 2023 witnessed a 2.28 percent increase in exports compared to the previous month, with Rs. 754,073 million surpassing the September 2023 exports of Rs. 737,295 million.
This notable upswing in export figures is indicative of a strengthened economic trajectory for Pakistan, reflecting positive trends in global trade and a resilient export sector.
