The digital housing and population census will start today across Pakistan and will continue till March 3.
According to details, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) stated that citizens will self-register their family and house details for the digital housing and population census using just registered mobile.
The census will be the first in Pakistani history to be conducted without the use of paper and pencil; instead, the statistics agency and trained personnel will enter data into tablets.
The computerized door-to-door housing and population census will also begin on March 1 and go through April 1.
Pakistan’s Seventh census delayed for a month
The seventh digital housing and population census had already been postponed for a month owing to “unavoidable circumstances,” according to a previous announcement from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The seventh census field operation was scheduled to take place from February 1 to March 4, 2023, according to a notification released by the Planning Ministry.
however, the ministry’s announcement stated that “due to some unforeseen circumstances and bearing in view the ground realities,” the fifth progress review meeting of the census monitoring committee (CMC) agreed to start the field operation of the census from March 1 to April 1, 2023.
