According to Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon, Karachi would serve as the first stop for Pakistan’s first electric bus service.
According to an announcement made by Sharjeel Memon, the Sindh government’s transportation division will launch Pakistan’s first electric bus service tomorrow for residents of Karachi.
Tomorrow marks the launch of the first electric bus route, which runs from Clifton Clock to Seaview Beach. He claimed that Karachi will soon see the introduction of the first batch of 50 electric, environmentally friendly cars.
Additionally, a solar power system was set up to power the buses. After a single charge, each bus will travel 240 kilometers, he noted.
On Monday, the information minister gave the appropriate agencies instructions to launch the People’s Electric Bus Service right away and to finalise its first route through Karachi.
He had stated that the government had opted to expedite the procurement procedure and had approved the purchase of more buses. He continued by saying that new bus routes are something that the people of Karachi want.
Memon had stated in November of last year that the Sindh government’s transportation division would begin a new bus service in Karachi.
