Thirteen-year-old Huzaifa Shahid from Karachi has made Pakistan proud by winning the Junior Squash Championship in Japan.
With a passion for squash since the age of five, Huzaifa has been developing his skills under the guidance of his father. Inspired by squash legend Jahangir Khan, Huzaifa has already achieved numerous victories in local tournaments, and his recent success in Japan highlights his dedication and talent.
“I’ve loved squash since I was a child,” Huzaifa shared.
His father, proud of his son’s accomplishments, called on the government to provide support for young athletes like Huzaifa. He expressed concern over the decline of squash in Pakistan, despite its rich history in the sport, and emphasized that with proper backing, the country could once again excel internationally.
Huzaifa’s victory marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s squash legacy, and his promising future shows the potential to revive the nation’s prominence in the sport.
