Pakistan’s sports scene shines brightly as Gujranwala-native athlete Nooh Dastgir Butt clinches the gold medal in the Hercules Columns competition at the Pahlavon Mahmud Strongman Games 2024 held in Khiva, Uzbekistan.

Competing against wrestlers from 16 countries at the event organized by the World Strongman Competition, Butt displayed unmatched strength and determination, ultimately emerging victorious in this prestigious contest.
Proud father and coach, Dastigar Butt, expressed immense pride in his son’s accomplishment, emphasizing that Nooh’s success will continue to bring glory to the nation in future competitions.
This recent triumph follows Butt’s historic gold medal win at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in August 2022. Competing in the weightlifting men’s 109 plus-kg category, the then 24-year-old set a new Games record of 173kg in the snatch portion of the event, after lifting 170kg in his initial attempt.
In the Clean and Jerk category, Butt lifted an impressive 232kg, securing a total of 405kg to clinch the gold medal for Pakistan.
