Noted artist Pir Hamid Ali Kheshgi, an artist from Kheshgi region of Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nowshera recently garnered widespread fame when an Italy-based organization selected his art piece for an international group exhibition in a watercolor painting contest.
Talking to the media, the artist stated that an Italy -based art organization selected one of his art pieces for the third time for a group exhibition where paintings of eminent artists from across the world were also exhibited.
This is not the first time, Ali has brought such an honor to the country, but a third chance to represent Pakistan internationally with his paintings, while he has also claimed several local and international awards to his name.
“The art organization had selected my art piece in 2017 and then in 2019 and recently picked out another for the third time in a watercolor painting contest. For me, it is great global recognition, and I believe that in this way our cultural diversity will reach out to world art fans,” he remarked.
Mr. Kheshgi presently serves as an assistant art professor at Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, and is a recipient of 15 awards and commendation certificates from both national and international art organizations. Continuing his passion, Ali graduated in fine arts and also received a degree in animation from the National College of Arts
About the selection, Ali believes that this is a great opportunity for him to promote the culture and tourist attractions of KPK on a global level via his work.
Ali further spoke about participating in an online competition conducted by the IWS (International Watercolor Society), which highlighted his work among art lovers internationally, resulting in him getting a spot in the exhibition.
