Powerlifter Saifullah Solangi of Pakistan won four medals, including two golds, in the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin on Tuesday.
Saifullah won two gold medals, lifting 90kg in the back squat and 115kg in the deadlift.
Saifullah won silver in the combined powerlifting event with a lift of 245kg. In addition, he won bronze in the 40kg bench press.
Meanwhile, Samina Bibi and Mohammad Bashar of Pakistan qualified for the 50m event finals.
Ammara Brahim advanced to the 200m final, while Abdul Haseeb advanced to the 800m final.
The semi-finals were qualified by Fiza Abbasi (200m), Man Bibi (400m), and Mirwaiz (1500m).
Mohammad Luqman and Manahil advanced to the quarter-finals of the 100m, while Umair Kayani advanced to the semi-finals of the shot put.
Pakistan qualified for the final of the 4400 mixed relay by finishing third in their semi-final heat.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent his best wishes to Pakistan’s 87-member delegation, which included athletes with disabilities.
