ATF U-14 Tennis Tournament 2022 semifinalists Zohaib Afzal Malik of Pakistan and Hamood Eyad of Yemen proceeded to Kathmandu, Nepal.
Zohaib was a little upset to have to skip the ATF U-14 first circuit match and travel to Nepal after having to miss the U-14 ITF trials. He is playing in his first-ever ATF event outside of Pakistan, and so far, he is doing really well.
It can be difficult to play ATF in a foreign nation for the first time, but Zohaib showed his talent there as well. He did well in the singles against strong opponents from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, finishing 10th out of 32 players.
However, he continued his winning streak in the doubles and, with the tough help of Yemen’s Hamood Eyad, unexpectedly defeated formidable doubles teams from India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka to advance to the doubles final.
Zohaib, who is a brilliant student of LGS DHA Phase V Lahore, being supported and sponsored by SA Group, and coached and trained well by coach M Khalid and physical trainer M Arshad Javed, is passionate to represent Pakistan in the final and determined to give his best in the title clash. The Pak-Yemen pair faces Indian duo of Siddharth Jeebu and Vivaan Mirdha in the final.
