In a video shared by the PCB on its Twitter handle, Ramiz Raja talked about the ambitions and goals of the Board for the upcoming year 2022 to uplift Pakistan cricket.

Wishing a happy new year to all the cricket fans in Pakistan, the PCB chairman said “Creating the best cricket infrastructure in the country for the pathway and talented players participating in ‘Age Group’ cricket will be my priority in the year 2022.”

The PCB has decided to give stipends and competitive cricket to Age Group cricketers, he said, adding “The PCB is working for Under 19 and Women PSL and also considering to hold a T10 cricket tournament in Pakistan.”

The former opening batsman also talked about the installation of drop-in pitches. “Working fast on a drop-in and hybrid pitches.”

Ramiz Raja also said that the PCB has plans to build a new stadium in Islamabad and new rooms in the High Performance Centre Lahore.

Ramiz Raja also shed light on the appointment of new coaches for the Pakistan cricket team and said that talks have been held with Pakistan captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Saqlain Mushtaq on the appointment of national cricket team coaches. “The general impression is that foreign coaches should be appointed for the national cricket team,” added the PCB chairman.

He further said that the year 2022 will be a bumper year for the Pakistan cricket fans as big teams like Australia and England will tour Pakistan despite the COVID-19 situation. “The series against Australia and England are set at a time when the big players of both the teams can come to Pakistan,” he elaborated.

“The performance of the national cricket team and the policies of the PCB have increased the confidence of the stakeholders in the board,” he added.

Ramiz Raja lastly said that the bidding for HBL PSL’s broadcasting and live streaming rights has significantly increased.
