Over 1,000 people were killed by Pakistan’s biggest flood in decades, many more were injured, and millions of more were forced to leave their homes and are now waiting for aid and support from the government.
In order to help those in need, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has chosen to donate the gate receipts from the first T20I match against England to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja said that the cricket board will firmly stand with the affected people and all those engaged in flood relief and rescue activities while expressing his sadness and anguish over the terrible flood.
The PCB has consistently supported its supporters and the general public through difficult, hard, and trying times because it is a responsible and caring organization. In light of this, we have made the decision to contribute the gate receipts from the first T20I matchup with England to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
In order for the cricket board to contribute a substantial amount to the fund and demonstrate support for people impacted by the disaster, the PCB Chairman pleaded with all cricket fans to purchase tickets for the first T20 match.
The cricket board has already dispatched trucks full of food, medicine, and other supplies to flood-affected areas, the chairman added, and they will continue to help citizens and rescue workers in any way they can.
The England white-ball team is scheduled to tour Pakistan for seven T20 matches in September, with the much-anticipated series taking place from September 20 to September 25 in Karachi and from September 28 to October 2 in Lahore.
