In a move that adds to the financial strain on residents, the price of roti in Peshawar has been raised by Rs5, reflecting the ongoing inflation affecting essential commodities.
According to a notification from the deputy commissioner of Peshawar, the cost of a 125-gram roti has increased to Rs20, up from the previous price of Rs15 for a 120-gram roti. This new pricing has been enforced across the district with immediate effect.
The district administration stated that the price hike was recommended by the Price Review Committee, which pointed to the rising cost of flour as the primary factor driving the increase.
