According to authorities, a suicide bombing occurred near a security forces vehicle in Peshawar’s Hayatabad neighborhood on Tuesday.
According to preliminary accounts, at least eight persons were hurt in the incident.
The area has been blocked off by security personnel.
Cantt Waqas Rafiq, Superintendent of Police (SP), confirmed the suicide bombing, stating the explosion occurred near a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle and that six security personnel were injured.
Terrorists also targeted members of the security forces, according to authorities.
According to rescue authorities, those injured in the blast were sent to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
According to police, the two victims are in critical condition.
Following the Afghan Taliban’s return to power in August 2021, Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist assaults and has urged interim rulers to take serious action against terrorists, notably the TTP responsible for cross-border operations.
Terrorist activity in Pakistan increased by 79% in the first half of 2023, according to a data analysis produced by the independent think tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).

Pakistani security forces have also increased their counter-terrorism efforts, killing at least 236 militants across the country and arresting 295 suspected militants in the first six months of 2023.
