ISLAMABAD – The federal government is expected to announce a minor increase in petrol prices for the first half of October 2024, countering earlier reports that predicted a further decrease in fuel costs.
According to sources, the petrol price will rise by 11 paisas per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will see a reduction of Rs2.11 per litre. The new prices will be announced after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s approval.
Previously, it was anticipated that fuel prices would drop significantly due to declining inflation rates.
Current Fuel Prices in Pakistan:
- Petrol: Rs249.10 per litre (after a Rs10 reduction in the last review)
- High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Rs249.69 per litre (after a Rs13.06 reduction)
The government will confirm the updated prices for the upcoming fortnight next week.
