From August 6, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will provide affordable fares with free luggage allowance for Islamabad-Beijing flights, making it easier for travellers to travel between Pakistan and China.
According to an official here on Friday, the national flag carrier has provided new reduced rates with 50-kilogramme free luggage allowance for economy class passengers and 60 kg for executive economy class customers.
He stated that the cheaper fares and free baggage allowance would considerably benefit travellers travelling to China for studies, business, work, or to visit family.
Every Sunday, PIA runs a weekly passenger flight from Islamabad to Beijing.
In an interview with APP, Ali Imran, a Pakistani researcher working in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, hailed the offer, saying, “The new fare with free baggage allowance will greatly facilitate Pakistani and Chinese travellers.”
He stated that many Pakistani students will return to their educational institutions after their summer vacations and that many others would begin their new academic year and would be able to take advantage of the new offer.
The possibility is also available to Chinese staff working on projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to Imran.
According to Ghulam Shifa, a Pakistani tour operator, this year is “The Year of Tourism” between Pakistan and China to encourage cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
He believes that this offer will attract Chinese tourists to visit Pakistan’s beautiful, historic, and cultural sites.
