Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decreased the ticket for Islamabad-Beijing flights with immediate effect in an effort to make travel between the two nations easier.
According to sources, the national flag carrier has announced a 30% drop in fares for the Islamabad-Beijing route, which will considerably benefit passengers who want to fly to China for school, business, work, or to visit family.
On Sundays, PIA now operates a weekly passenger flight from Islamabad to Beijing.
In an interview with APP, Ali Imran, a Pakistani scholar, stated that the new lower fare would considerably benefit both Pakistani and Chinese tourists.
Pakistan and China have designated 2023 as “The Year of Tourism” in order to encourage cultural and people-to-people contact.
Earlier this year, PIA boosted the discount rate on its rates for students traveling to China to 27%.
On Eid ul Fitr, the national flag carrier also reduced domestic flight fares in the economy and executive economy classes by 20%.
The PIA earned roughly Rs60 million in profit in the first quarter (January-March) of 2023, according to Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Kiran Imran Dar, who addressed the National Assembly last month.
