Despite the challenges, Pakistan Railways will meet the goal, according to Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
On Saturday, the Minister said, “I beg the Prime Minister to allocate financial grants to improve the Railways,” speaking at a press conference in Lahore.
According to him, PIA expects to increase its revenue this year to 170 billion rupees, which will be a record-high amount. New Boeing 777s would be added to PIA’s fleet, according to Saad Rafique, in the upcoming days.
Khawaja Saad Rafique firmly denied the claims that the Roosevelt Hotel in New York, which is owned by the PIA, was going to be sold. He claimed that the new government will decide the hotel’s fate the next year.
He said a financial adviser should be hired to explore all possibilities for joint ventures to develop the hotel as recommended by the previous government.
