Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued clear directives to implement direct subsidies on fertilizers for farmers and expand the Benazir Income Support Programme, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on the poor and middle-class individuals.
During a meeting in Islamabad focused on relief measures in the upcoming budget for marginalized segments of society, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of prioritizing the welfare of the masses despite economic challenges.
He stressed the need to optimize available resources and ensure maximum relief for the people. A comprehensive plan for the direct subsidy on fertilizers was also urged to be presented.
Prime Minister Sharif highlighted that solarizing tube-wells would contribute to reducing the fuel import bill and lower per-acre production costs for farmers.
Additionally, he mentioned that the government promptly adjusted the prices of petroleum products in accordance with international market trends.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of passing on the benefits of reduced oil prices to the general public, ensuring that the dividends of this reduction reach the common man.
