On the occasion of Eidul Fitr, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated overseas Pakistanis and Muslims across the globe, expressing his wishes for a joyous and blessed Eid. In an early morning tweet, the Prime Minister prayed for the acceptance of worship and forgiveness of sins by the Almighty.
Today, Eidul Fitr is being celebrated in Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Turkey, Afghanistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, and Egypt, as well as by Muslims in the United States, England, and Europe.
On the other hand, the official moon-sighting committee of Pakistan stated that it had not received any reports about the sighting of the Shawwal moon from any part of the country. As a result, Eidul Fitr will be celebrated in Pakistan tomorrow, April 22.
The timing of Eidul Fitr is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon, in accordance with the Muslim lunar calendar. Typically, this holiday is marked by family gatherings.
To celebrate Eid, the government has announced a five-day public holiday beginning on Friday and continuing until Tuesday, April 25, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior.
