Ehsan Mani, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, was praised by Prime Minister Imran Khan (PCB).
Khan praised the former PCB chairman on Twitter for establishing a regional domestic framework and inviting foreign teams to Pakistan throughout his three-year term.
“I would like to congratulate Ehsan Mani for his commitment to Pakistan cricket during his three-year stint as Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. “I particularly admire his contribution in establishing, for the first time, a regional domestic cricket system in Pakistan, as well as his role in reintroducing international cricket teams to Pakistan,” he wrote.
It should be remembered that Mani declined to remain as PCB chairman for personal concerns. PM Khan has chosen famous Test cricketer Ramiz Raja and Asad Ali Khan from the Board of Governors (BoG) to lead the PCB.
The election for the 36th PCB chairman will take place on September 13 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, under the guidance of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed.
According to reports, Raja welcomed the invitation to become PCB chairman and would most likely take over on September 13.
