Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaarul Haq Kakar, has called Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the current situation in Gaza and the West Bank.
According to a News by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar contacted Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas today to discuss the latest situation stemming from Israeli occupation forces’ continuous brutalities against innocent Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The prime minister strongly condemned the ongoing and brutal bombardment by Israeli occupation troops, particularly the bombing of Al-Ahli Hospital.
He described these as inhumane and purposeful acts of Israeli aggression against innocent Palestinians, which caused the loss of over 3,000 lives and the injury of over 12000 other people.
Both presidents highlighted the importance of the international community putting pressure on Israel to stop the bloodshed immediately.
Both sides agreed that it’s important to remove the blockade on Gaza. This would help deliver much-needed humanitarian aid and medical help to the people affected. Pakistan has already sent its initial batch of humanitarian assistance, which arrived in Egypt recently.
Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the need for strong actions from the international community, especially the United Nations, to solve this crisis and follow the principles of fairness, compassion, and international law.
Prime Minister Kakar also restated Pakistan’s strong commitment to finding a fair and lasting solution to the Palestinian conflict. This solution is based on the idea of two separate states, leading to the creation of an independent and workable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. It should also have borders similar to those before 1967.
President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for their long-standing and unwavering support in the Palestinian people’s struggle to break free from Israeli occupation.
