Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address said:
“The policy articulates a citizen-centric framework, placing economic security at its core and seeking a secure and economically resilient Pakistan.”
PM Addressed the National Security Policy Cermony?
PM stressed that Pakistan needs inclusive growth. But “compulsions to acquire loans from institutions like the IMF put the national economy at risk”.
Moreover, PM also said that the country never had a plan to secure itself economically.
“The NSP makes sure of the uplift of the lower segment,” said Prime Minister Imran Khan.
PM added that the nation will remain insecure if the rich kept becoming richer. We need measures in place to protect the downtrodden segment from economic meltdown.
Imran said his government launched health cards. And a single national curriculum to remove the disparity of resources among the masses.
The premier also said that there’s a need for boosting our exports. He said we can’t economically flourish with the exports far smaller than imports.
He said that the rule of law was equally significant in making a country prosperous. “The reason behind the progress of any country is a strong presence of the rule of law.”
National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf said there were very few countries that codified policies like the ones Pakistan crafted of late. He said some policies have already been released to the public.
Dr Yusuf said the NSP is centered around economic security while geo-strategic and geo-political imperatives also featured prominently in it to strengthen Pakistan’s security and standing in the world.
He highlighted that the final document consist of full civil-military consensus.
PM then concluded the launched ceremony of Pakistan’s first-ever National security policy.
