Dr. Saeed Akhtar has been reappointed as Chairman of the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Prime Minister chaired over a meeting of the PKLI Board of Governors during which key decisions were announced.
Dr. Saeed Akhtar returned to the United States four years ago following legal proceedings and other concerns.
Dr. Saeed Akhtar left everything in America to come to Pakistan, inspired by Shehbaz Sharif’s vision.
Dr. Saeed Akhtar was personally brought back by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
PKLI is the world’s first state-of-the-art and world-class kidney and liver transplantation facility.
As Chief Minister, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif designed this initiative to save liver and kidney patients from excessive treatment costs and travel difficulties abroad.
This project was exposed to political vendetta by the prior government.
