Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday and briefed him in detail on ongoing development initiatives in Karachi and other Sindh areas.
The meeting took occurred while the prime minister was in Sindh for the day.
The governor praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his specific interest in ongoing development projects in Sindh, particularly in Karachi.
On Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the inaugural ceremony of the 4th International Textile and Leather Exhibition at the EXPO centre in Karachi, saying that the textile sector is the backbone of the national economy and that his government will provide full assistance to enhance exports and the national economy.
He praised the businesspeople who, despite the hurdles and hardships along the way, have made significant contributions to the promotion of Pakistan’s textile and leather industries.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that the textile sector accounts for 60% of total country exports and that all efforts will be made to improve this sector.
The premier also praised Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar and his staff for organising the Expo, which is attended by over 400 foreign delegates from sixty countries, including buyers.
Marriyum Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Syed Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah were also present.
