Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met separately with a high-level PPP team and JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazlur Reham to discuss the country’s political situation.
The prime minister had a comprehensive talk with the PPP delegation about the country’s present political situation.
The PPP delegation included Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman, Water Resources Minister Syed Khurshid Shah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Qamaruz Zaman Kaira, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Senator Nisar Khuro.
The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
During the discussion, the PPP leadership praised the prime minister for including public welfare measures in the budget despite the challenging economic conditions.
Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) president Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday to review the country’s overall political situation.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s (PM) office, the meeting was also attended by Federal Minister for Communication Asad Mahmood.
During the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for including monies for development projects in the 2023-24 budget despite financial restrictions.
The JUI-F leaders also appreciated the steps taken for the uplift of the merged districts of tribal areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
