All of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s central office-bearers, including President Shehbaz Sharif, have been “re-elected” for another four-year term without a contest.
The federal intra-party elections were held in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central Secretariat in Chak Shehzad.
Maryam Nawaz, the PML-N’s chief organizer, was chosen unopposed, as was Ahsan Iqbal as secretary general, Ataullah Tarar as deputy secretary, and Ishaq Dar as secretary finance.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, a major party leader, and former prime minister, was not appointed to any position in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
In another move today, the PML-N decided to activate its minority wing, and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz formed a six-member team.
Former Punjab Provincial Assembly (MPA) member Raheela Khadim Hussain has been chosen as the Punjab Minority Committee’s coordinator. Ramesh Singh Arora, Kamran Bhatti, Babu Leela Ram, and Robina Feroz are among the members.
The committee was entrusted with completing the minority wing’s organizational framework in three weeks.
