During a meeting with a delegation from the Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors in Islamabad today, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif stated that the coalition government is putting forth all possible efforts to extricate the economy from the existing quagmire and steer the country towards development and prosperity.
He affirmed that the government’s judicious policies have effectively dispelled concerns of default. The Prime Minister expressed optimism that an agreement with the International Monetary Fund would be finalized in the near future.
He further acknowledged the hardships faced by the common people due to the current situation and assured the government’s commitment towards controlling inflation and providing relief to the poor, especially during Ramazan. Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the coalition partners for their role in effectively running the government’s affairs, highlighting that the government is united in its efforts to pull the country out of the current situation. He noted that friendly countries, such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and China, have extended support to Pakistan during these trying times.
