Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that Pakistan successfully avoided default and that no matter what government comes to power after the elections, we will alter the path of this country together.
He made these comments at a ceremony for development projects in Dera Ismail Khan.
In his presentation to the crowd, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remarked, “We will change the destiny of this country through our day and night hard work.” Yesterday, a decision was taken to raise electricity costs in accordance with the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) rigorous guidelines.
He went on to say that we had to go through negotiations and discussions with the IMF before signing the accord and that conspiracies were at their peak. He argued that the previous government broke the pact after signing it, and we had to bear the penalties.
If God forbid, the country defaults, my brow would have been stamped with humiliation, and the inscription would have adorned my grave.
PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that the situation was difficult when the coalition administration took office. During our term, the country was hit by the greatest and most disastrous flood in history, affecting three crore (30 million) people. According to Younger Sharif, the federal government distributed over 100 billion rupees to impacted families.
He claimed that the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was willing to sacrifice the state for political theatrics, but our coalition government chose to sacrifice politics in order to rescue the state.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that the PTI Chairman could have empowered the young if he so desired. I served Punjab for ten years, providing jobs to millions of young people and distributing hundreds of thousands of laptop computers on the basis of merit, he added.
