Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the Reko Diq project will be a game changer for Balochistan and the beginning of a new era of development.
On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was welcomed by a delegation from the Barrick Reko Diq Mining Company led by Chief Executive Officer Mark Bristow.
Speaking to the group, the prime minister said that the Reko Diq project will be advantageous to both sides.
The prime minister was informed by Mark Bristow about the project’s current status. The prime minister was informed at a project briefing that 70% of the team members are from Balochistan.

The corporation established a school in collaboration with the local community development committee, and the prime minister was also made aware of plans to take action to help local kids receive professional and higher education so they may find jobs.
It was also said in the briefing that efforts are being made to set up local health facilities and safe drinking water. The briefing also mentioned that the project makes use of renewable energy.
The Barrick Reko Diq Mining Company’s continuous efforts in corporate social responsibility were acknowledged by the prime minister, who also urged the business to partner with the government to open Danish schools in Balochistan. Each department in question should carry out its duty.
