Imran Khan, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and President Arif Alvi are expected to meet in Lahore today (Wednesday).
President Arif Alvi is scheduled to meet with Imran Khan in Zaman Park in Lahore today as part of the final step of discussions for the dissolution of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
The PTI chairman is also set to meet with the various party leaders to hear their opinions on calling off the assemblies.
The upcoming general elections will also be covered at the meeting.
Imran Khan will announce the date of the legislature’s dissolution at a sizable public gathering that PTI is planning at the Liberty Chowk, according to Punjab Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal on Tuesday.
Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, declared the dissolution of the Punjab and KP Assemblies on November 26. There are reported differences between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its allies PML-Q on the date of the Punjab Assembly’s dissolution.
According to sources, Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and a former prime minister, was advised earlier to postpone the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly by Punjab chief minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi.
