The Vice Prime Minister of China, He Lifeng, was granted Pakistan’s second-highest civil award, Hilal-e-Pakistan, at a historic ceremony at the President’s House.
According to the information, President Dr Arif Alvi presented Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng with the Hilal-e-Pakistan award in honour of his commitment to Pakistan-China friendship and promotion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The award was presented during a special investiture ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in the presence of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, service chiefs, the National Assembly Speaker, the Senate Chairman, federal ministries, and lawmakers.
The ceremony was blessed by the presence of the illustrious Chinese Vice Premier, who was also honoured as the event’s special guest.

He has been a key figure in China’s international economic relations and the Belt and Road Initiative, of which CPEC is a flagship project.
He was influential in the design and execution of many CPEC projects in Pakistan as the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (2017-23).
He Lifeng, a great friend of Pakistan, worked for industrialisation and socioeconomic development in Pakistan, as well as assisting in the execution of energy projects.
The national anthems of both countries were played at the start of the ceremony.
