Multan Sultans’ batter Khushdil Shah has been fined 10% of the match fee for a level 1 breach of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel in his side’s match against Peshawar Zalmi at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Friday during the ongoing during PSL 8.
Khushdil was charged with violating Article 2.4, which states that he disobeyed an umpire’s order while the match was in progress. Khushdil twice asked the umpires to review the ball during the 15th over of Multan Sultans’ batting, which is when the incident occurred, according to a press statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“Since Khushdil pleaded guilty to the charge and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Muhammad Javed, there was no need for a formal hearing.
Ahsan Raza and Martin Saggers, the on-field umpires, “issued the charge.”
The PCB earlier fined Tim David and Shan Masood of Multan Sultans, Shadab Khan, the captain of Islamabad United, and pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi for violating the code of conduct.
As a result of breaking the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Workers for Thursday night’s PSL 8 encounter between Islamabad and Lahore Qalandars at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Farooqi was fined 10% of his match money.
According to a press release by the PCB, Farooqi used foul language after dismissing the batsman during the Lahore Qalandars’ 19th over of batting.
“Farooqi admitted guilt and agreed to the punishment Roshan Mahanama, the match referee, had suggested. On-field umpires Aleem Dar and Faisal Khan Afridi made the accusation.
Shadab Khan, the captain of Islamabad, Shan Masood, and Tim David, players for Multan Sultans, were all fined ten percent of their match costs for breaking the PSL Code of Conduct in separate incidents on Tuesday during their team’s PSL 8 encounter.
The PCB reported that all three players had broken Article 2.8 of the PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Workers, which deals with expressing disagreement with an umpire’s ruling during a game.
