Following the attack on party chief Imran Khan in Wazirabad, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for nationwide protests to take place after Friday prayers.
Asad Umar announced on Twitter that PTI would organize nationwide protests following Friday prayers, saying that the actions would continue until Imran Khan’s demands were satisfied.
He wrote, “The protests will continue until Khan’s demands are met.
The attack on Khan’s convoy, killed one man and wounded at least 10 others, significantly raising the stakes in the political crisis gripping the country since Khan’s ousting in April.
At the Shaukat Khanum hospital, Khan “was stable and he was doing fine,” according to his physician Faisal Sultan.
A team of doctors led by Dr. Faisal Sultan will reexamine the PTI chief in the morning after the PTI chief underwent CT Scan, X-Rays, and other procedures at the hospital throughout the evening.
When a shooter opened fire with a pistol on the PTI leader’s container truck in Wazirabad, he managed to flee with at least one gunshot wound to his right leg.
Since last week, the former prime minister had been driving a large campaign convoy from Lahore to Islamabad when he was ambushed.
