Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is preparing to expel Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sher Afzal Marwat from the party, sources revealed on Monday.
According to insiders, PTI’s founder has directed senior party leaders to revoke Marwat’s basic membership, citing internal concerns over his recent actions. A formal notification of his removal is expected to be issued soon.
Sources further disclosed that following his expulsion, Sher Afzal Marwat will also be asked to resign from his National Assembly seat. The move comes after complaints from PTI leaders regarding Marwat’s role in the party’s recent Swabi rally, which reportedly led to internal disagreements.
PTI members had raised concerns with the party leadership, prompting action against the MNA. However, an official statement from PTI leadership is still awaited.
This development marks another instance of internal rifts within PTI as it navigates political challenges. Marwat’s removal, if confirmed, could reshape the party’s internal dynamics and parliamentary representation.
