In Pakistan, over the poor quality of automobiles and their astronomically high prices, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has raised its voice.
Participants at a conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, chaired by Rana Tanveer Hussain, requested that the Ministry of Industry and Production bring the auto sector up to international standards while also assuring reasonable automobile prices.
According to committee chairman Rana Tanveer Hussain, vehicles are costly and unsatisfactory. He added that over the last four decades, a countrywide Ponzi scam had been operating. “These vehicles haven’t had airbags for years, even though they’ve been manufactured cars for years.

He claimed “Pay attention to the tractors,” he said, “and tell us the costs and quality.”
Member Committee Niaz Ahmed remarked that it is a poor country; we don’t even have enough money and the prices surprised me. Because of Singapore’s traffic, these automobiles have been heavily taxed. We should make it a policy not to import large automobiles.
On a related matter, committee member Khawaja Asif requested the PAC Chairman to assist speed the procedures by stopping the “Daala culture.”
