In light of the severe wheat shortage, the Punjab food department decided to examine the history of the flour mills on Monday.
According to specifics, the food agency has requested three months’ worth of documents from flour vendors and store owners.
As many retailers worry about the shortage, the officials inquired as to whether the flooring that the government provides to floor mills also reaches the shops.
In a week, DFC and AFC food will gather the data. The cost of flour increased, and there is now a severe scarcity. Earlier, the price of flour in Lahore increased for the ninth time in two months.
In the provincial capital Lahore, the cost of a 1kg bag has jumped by Rs 10, and it is currently being offered for Rs 160. The shortage and increased prices of wheat have caused the hike in flour prices. The prices are now increasing on daily basis.
